OPPORTUNITY

Dévoile, a brand rooted in the vision of evoking sophisticated elegance through Parisian Baroque luxury, sought to create packaging for their limited-edition candle line. The candles, imagined in the heart of New York City and expertly crafted by artisans in France, were designed to transport customers to a bygone era of opulent beauty and serenity. In the early days of their development, we were tapped to help realize and articulate the brand’s mission, values, and visuals as timeless travel companions through scent.

The challenge was to design packaging that not only captured the essence of dual scent variants but also stood out as a luxurious statement in high-end retail environments. The founders were equipped with some workhorse bridge assets to ensure a successful bootstrapped launch collection.

PROCESS

Dévoile’s luxury unboxing experience would prove key as a newcomer in a crowded market, so care was given to the packaging development. From carefully curated production specifications to thoughtful packing accessories, the collection launch was meticulously designed.

To embody the brand’s focus, we selected premium, sustainable materials, including satin-finish paper, embossed accessories, and a rich palette of stark contrasts that let the scents shine. The packaging’s clean lines and neutral tones provided a stark tapestry for the rich scents, ensuring a balance of lavish notes against a modern backdrop. The juxtaposition created a tension that reinforced Dévoile’s commitment to blending historical richness with contemporary appeal.

The packaging was as functional as it was visually stunning. The candle boxes were designed to open like a precious keepsake, revealing the candle nestled inside a custom-fit insert. The unboxing experience evoked a sense of discovery and luxury, with every detail carefully curated to enhance the sensory journey.

The iconography on the packaging featured a custom illustration of The Jockey of Artemision, creating a transatlantic narrative to reinforce each candle’s global journey and inviting customers to partake in the brand’s story of sophisticated craftsmanship.

OUTCOME

Prioritizing the packaging, we created the suite of launch materials needed to convey Dévoile’s core values: luxury, modern Parisian refinement, and opulent grandeur. Dévoile’s packaging became a visual signature for the brand. The fusion of Baroque-inspired intricacy with modern luxury allowed the product to stand out in premium retail environments. Customers were drawn to its aesthetic appeal, conveying timeless opulence and refined modernity.
